Why choose us

About our nursery

Our vision is to be the parents’ first choice childcare and education provider for all your children, achieving that through our reputation for providing outstanding child care and education in all of our settings, built on a foundation of a proactive approach towards continuous improvement. Recommended on daynurseries.co.uk Stamp

We believe that all children need to feel safe, secure and happy. Within our nursery we expect our staff to put our children first, their safety, welfare and ongoing development is the most important part of their role. At The Valley Nursery and Kids Clubs, we aim to provide a secure, happy, consistent and nurturing environment for your child, at all times.

We help your child to reach their full potential, where their welfare and happiness are always paramount. We encourage your child to develop in their own individual way, and to reach their full potential. We are dedicated to providing you with peace of mind that comes from knowing that your child is in an excellent and caring hand.

I’d like to say a big thank you to the staff in the daffodil room. They have been wonderful with helping to settle our son into nursery life, they are very informative and give clear hand overs. We love receiving notifications and seeing what he is getting up to whilst we’re at work. There is a lovely feel to the nursery.” – Sam and Charlotte

Promoting positive behaviour

We believe that children flourish best when they know how they and others are expected to behave. Children gain respect through interaction with caring adults who act as good role models, show them respect and value their individual personalities.

We actively promote British values which encourages and praises positive, caring and polite behavior at all times and provides an environment where children learn to respect themselves, other people and their surroundings.

We aim to:

  • Recognize the individuality of all our children
  • Encourage self-discipline, consideration for each other, our surroundings and property
  • Encourage children to participate in a wide range of group activities to enable them to develop their social skills
  • Ensure that all staff act as positive role models for children and encourage parents and other visitors to be positive role models
  • Work in partnership with parents by communicating openly
  • Praise children and acknowledge their positive actions and attitudes
  • Provide a key person system enabling staff to build a strong and positive relationship with children and their families
  • Provide activities and stories to help children learn about accepted behaviors.

The importance of outdoor play

We are committed to the importance of daily outdoor play and the physical development of all children regardless of their age and stage of development. We provide outdoor play in all weathers.

We recognize that children need regular access to outdoor play in order to keep fit and healthy, develop their large and fine motor skills, experience learning in a natural environment and access sunlight in order to absorb vitamin D more effectively. The outdoor areas including our large Forest School, both within the grounds and in the local community have a wealth of experiences and resources which help children to develop in a variety of ways, including independence, exploration and investigative skills, risk taking and self-esteem, all of which support children to develop skills now and for the future.
