Our Care and Education Team

Our teachers, nursery officers and play-workers are the most important element for creating a nurturing, secure and happy environment for your child to enjoy. Our policy is to provide a secure and safe environment for all children, and we provide adequate and appropriate staffing resources to meet the needs of all children. We expect all our colleagues, both internal and external, to be professional at all times and hold the welfare and safety of every child as their paramount objective. We abide by the requirements of the EYFS and any Ofsted guidance in respect to obtaining references and suitability checks for staff to ensure that all staff working in the setting is suitable to do so. Each member of our care team is carefully hand-picked for their relevant Early Years Care and Education qualifications and experience. They most importantly demonstrate a natural and passionate aptitude for working with young children. We have named persons within the setting who take lead responsibility for safeguarding and co-ordinate child protection and welfare issues, known as the Designated Safeguarding Co-ordinators. Although, under the EYFS, we are only required to have one designated Lead Co-ordinator for safeguarding, for best practice and to ensure cover at all times, we have two designated leads in place. This enables safeguarding to stay high on our priorities at all times.

Thorough training ensures quality childcare

Before they can begin to care for your child, every member of our care team receives a full induction. This includes demonstrating a thorough understanding of our policies and procedures. In addition, all newly employed staff is fully-supervised by a senior mentor for a minimum of 6 months. We only allow an adult who is employed by the company to care for children and who has an enhanced clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to be left alone with children. All staff will attend child protection training and receive initial basic child protection training during their induction period, creating a safe and secure environment for the children in the nursery. All staff are encouraged to continue training and developing their childcare skills to degree level and beyond to maintain the highest possible standards of care and education.

Our staff training exceeds Ofsted standards

We encourage our staff to continue training and developing their childcare skills to degree level, and beyond to ensure that we maintain the highest possible standards of care and education. What’s more, all members of staff involved in serving food, or food preparation, are Food Hygiene trained, as well as all of our staff has First Aid training, exceeding Ofsted standards.
